Becoming a Professional Magician

Depending on the type of magic he performs, a professional magician may also mend, retouch or replace props, costumes, and other equipment like microphones, lights and backdrops. He may hire an assistant, so there are practice sessions to work through.
And once the performance is finished, he needs to collect his pay. Of course, hiring an agent to handle the mundane tasks is certainly an option that many magicians take because it frees them up to concentrate on their performance.
As you can see, being a professional magician takes a lot of work, but the rewards are very fulfilling.

Here's how it looks:
I take a ping pong ball and throw it into the audience. I ask whoever catches it to tell me what their favorite color is. For example, let's say that blue is their favorite color.
I (or sometimes my assistant) will write BLUE on a large drawing pad or dry-erase board on stage.
Then I instruct the person with the ball to throw it into the audience in any direction they would like. The next person to catch it is asked to call out the name of their favorite vegetable, which I write on the pad.
They also throw the ball into the audience for someone else to catch. I ask that person to count the change they have in their pocket or purse and call it out. I write that on the pad.
Several people are involved in this activity until the drawing pad is filled up with their answers.
The last person who catches the ball is asked to come up to the front to join me. I ask them if they had noticed the decorations on the back wall. There are party streamers hanging from end to end. In the middle of one of these streamers is attached an envelope which has been hanging there since the beginning of the show.
I walk over to the back wall, stand on a chair to reach the envelope and cut it down. I hand the envelope to the spectator and have them open it, take out the letter inside and read it aloud to the audience.
Here's what it says:
Your favorite color is BLUE*.
Your favorite vegetable is CORN*.
You have 56¢* in your pocket.
You are a fan of the DALLAS COWBOYS*
and enjoy watching HORROR* movies.
Your dream vacation is a trip to CANCUN*.
You wish you were SURFING* right now, and
you, JANE DOE*, have the privilege of reading
the contents of this prediction envelope on this *

Everything in the letter matches exactly what they called out and was written on the drawing pad for all to see.
